Pastrami Ice Cream Eating Fairies Pig out Whilst Ducking Champagne

its been awhile since i've blogged, apologies, but i have religiously kept the 365 days of stupidness tran running in my life. as i dont have a camera or a phone good enough to have one my photos are a little delayed in coming up but will be up soon.

some updates:

hot pastramis sarnies are ace..... pastrami is not available in aldi and is expensive n somerfield

strawberry ice cream is quality....i had mine in the form of a cornetto

fairies are fun....i wore a tinkerbell hat and waved a wand

pigs are great animals...especially the way harvesters cook them and smother them in bbq sauce

peking duck is sensational.....bought from iceland for £2

champagne is horrible....so is champagne marmite! the cheap mans way of celebrating this day

today is penquin awareness day i was just gonna p-p-p-p-pick up the chocolate version but i though i needed to be more aware of penquins so here are some penquin facts:

they spend 75% of their time underwater

they can't breath underwater but can hold their breath for ages

average water speed is 15mph

they gather in groups of up to 5000

their man diet is fish

main predator is the leopard seal

January 12th-17th

It's been a fun week. Every day is something new and things that I normally do. That's why this year is going to be great. Taf loves Hot Toddy's now, something he probably wouldn't have normally have experienced otherwise. For me, the highlight of this week was probably Blame Someone Else Day.

So how did the week start? Well, Monday the 12th January was National Pharmacist Day. It was very well timed as I was feeling pretty ill and was off work. So I went down to Selly Oak and found one immediately. I went in and had a lovely chat with a lady who worked there. She didn't know that it was her day so I gave her good wishes and she seemed quite chuffed. I asked for a photo with her but she declined, which wasn't in the spirit of things, so I took one outside in the rain.



January 13th

This is brilliant. I'm sure people took part in this day without even meaning to. I, of course, decided to try and video me doing it and did quite a good job. I went into work at YFC and through a highlighter at Brodie, one of the volunteers. I immediately blamed it on Hannah and Brodie actually believed that it was her. Lovely stuff!!



January 14th National Hot Pastrami Day. Lovely. Pastrami is a kinda salted herbed dry beef. It's quite nice. I couldn't find any packaged stuff in the little supermarkets so instead I bought a pre-packed sandwich from Sainsburys. It came with the normal garnish of gherkin and american mustard. It was lovely. Happy days. I put it in the microwave in order to make it sweat and be hot.


January 15th

I was ill again today. Still couldn't shake the flu. So I got my slave Watko to get me some strawberry ice cream on the way home from work. She delivered. It was nice, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I couldn't taste it. Meh.



January 16th

SJ bought me some pink fluffy fairy wings today. So I went to Hinckley to have dinner with Crux Theatre in a pub. I sat with the wings on all night. Laura has the pics and will upload them to facebook soon. I felt belittled. But at least I celebrate the Festival of All Fairies. I love you tinkerbell and the tooth fairy, even if you never gave me as money as my friends.

January 17th How beautiful is this day. I would have loved to actually see a pig today, but it was Saturday and that means football for me. Instead I bought in sausages and bacon, an actual rare occurance for me! So I made a fry up. It was booootiful!! Here's me about to demolish it! LAVERLY!!

Puddles, Toddys, Pharmacists and Blame

So recently, i've splashed laurie in a home made puddle (video is on the facebook group), drank a hot toddy at home with my housemate and her boyfriend..... Presented a bemused Pharmacist with a certificate and told him to keep up the good work (photos up shortly) and today i have sent an email to manchester united blaming them for spurs current plight......

To Whom it may concern,

I am a Tottenham Hotspur fan so as you can imagine I'm not a very happy bunny at the moment. My club is languishing in the bottom 3 of the league and to be honest I BLAME MANCHESTER UNITED! In January 2005 the mighty Spurs came to Old Trafford and were robbed. Pedro Mendes 'scored' an ambitious yet beautiful 'goal' from about 50yards. It went about 2 feet over the line before Roy Carroll clawed it out. Unbelievably, Referee Mark Clattenburg ruled this injury time 'winner' didn't cross the line, thus robbing Spurs of 2 valuable points. If Roy Carroll or anyone at Man Utd had any decency they would have campaigned to the Premier League for justice to prevail. This did not happen and Spurs went on to narrowly miss out on european qualification that season. Had they qualified Spurs would have enjoyed the financial benefits and I believe would have been able to attract a better quality of player to White Hart Lane. Now, 4 years on we would definitely be challenging at the top of the table instead of battling relegation.

January 11th - National Hot Toddy Day

I first came across Hot Toddy's when working at The Fox. Here's a definition of what one is...

"Hot toddy is a name given to a mixed drink that is served hot, believed to have originated in the 18th century to make the taste of scotch more palatable.[citation needed] Although there are many variations, essential ingredients are:

* a hot beverage which may be tea, coffee, cocoa, water, apple cider, etc.
* an alcoholic spirit such as brandy, rum, or whiskey.
* usually a sweetener, such as honey, sugar or syrup."

So for mine I went for ingredients I had in the house already, and they were Pimms, Apple Juice, Syrup, and Cinnamon. I was given a Winter Pimms Tea Pot Set a year ago and thought this was a great chance to use it. So I put the ingredients in the saucepan and heated the mixture up. Susie, Naomi and I drank the Hot Toddy's and they were lush. I have a cold at the moment so it was great timing.

January 10th - Step In A Puddle And Splash Your Friend Day

This is a genius idea. It's pretty well known by people and is always on the 11th. The problem with it being in January is that often those puddles will be frozen. The problem that we all encountered around the country (Birmingham, Gillingham and Cambridge) was that it hadn't rained. So there weren't any at all! That added to it for me. It meant I had to create my own puddle. I've been pretty ill all week and struggled out of bed late on Saturday to complete this, hence why the video is pretty poor but at least the sound is good. I went round to Susie's house and got a bucket of water and found a dip in the pavement where I created the puddle. Naomi filmed the event and Susie volunteered to be splashed. For some reason though I just didn't think about where the water would go. Not only did I get Susie, but I also got Naomi (therefore spashing TWO friends) and seriously got myself in the face and got soaked! See if you can work that out from the video and noises.... oh and it's also 90 degree rotated round the wrong way.

January 9th - National Dance Day

This was the last day that Taf and I would be together for a while so what better way to finish than with National Dance Day. On our facebook group, Erin has uploaded a video of me and some of the volunteers dancing. It's a great vid, check it out. This video is poor quality but you can clearly see myself and Taf with a couple of others dancing.

January 8th - National English Toffee Day

This one could have gone horribly wrong. We were pretty much stuck in North Wales without any toffees as the day approached. We sent some of the volunteers down into town to get specifically English Toffees. They duly delivered. They were Sainsbury's own brand and said "Produced in the England for...". We were delighted. Many people joined us in the celebrations. In the picture is Malcolm's son. His parents joined us in the day.
